Highlights
Lightened sections of hair created using foils or a cap, designed to add brightness, contrast, and dimension.
What is highlights?
Highlights are sections of hair lifted to a lighter shade than the base, typically processed in aluminum foils to keep them isolated. Because each foil is saturated, highlights deliver brighter, more uniform lift than balayage and are ideal for clients wanting bold contrast or full coverage. Touch-ups are usually needed every 6–10 weeks at the roots.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I get highlights?▾
Full highlights last 3–4 months; partial or root touch-ups are typically done every 6–10 weeks.
Are highlights better than balayage?▾
Neither is better — they answer different goals. Choose highlights for bright, saturated lift; balayage for soft, low-maintenance dimension.
