7 ways to fill your calendar next week

No theory and no growth hacks — seven things that reliably put appointments in empty slots, in the order we'd do them. Works whether you're solo or running a team.

    1. Let people book at 11pm

Most beauty and wellness bookings are attempted outside working hours — evenings, lunch breaks, after a scroll through Instagram. If the only way to book is calling you back, you lose those clients to whoever answers first. Put a booking link in your Instagram bio, your Google listing, your WhatsApp auto-reply and your text signature, and make sure it shows real availability, not a form you have to reply to.

Do this today: Send your booking link to yourself, book an appointment as a client would, and time it. If it takes more than 60 seconds, cut a step.

    2. Ask for a deposit

A no-show is not just a missing client — it's an hour of your day you can never re-sell. Taking a small deposit at booking (even 20%) changes behaviour, because the appointment now costs something. Say it plainly on the booking page: the deposit comes off the final price, and it's transferable if they give you notice.

Do this today: Set a deposit on your two longest services first — those are the appointments that hurt most when they vanish.

    3. Rebook before they leave the chair

The easiest appointment to fill is the next one for the client sitting in front of you. Their calendar is open, they're happy, and they already trust you. Once they walk out, you're competing with everything else in their life. Ask while you're finishing up: "Same time in four weeks?"

Do this today: Do this for every client for one week and count how many said yes. Most people are shocked at the number.

    4. Message your last 90 days of clients — once

You already have the warmest list you'll ever own: people who paid you recently. One short, honest message beats any advert. Don't discount by default; give a reason to come in.

Do this today: Send this: "Hi [name], it's [you] at [business]. I've got a couple of gaps next week — Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Want one? Here's my booking link."

    5. Fix the price on your two most profitable services

Not the cheapest ones — the profitable ones. Work out what a service really costs you: your time at the hourly rate you want, plus products used, plus card fees. Plenty of salons discover their most popular service is their worst earner. Raise it, shorten it, or stop promoting it.

Do this today: Use our free pricing and profit calculators to check two services today. It takes five minutes and often finds real money.

    6. Get found: profile, hours, photos, reviews

New clients look you up before they book: your hours, your photos, whether anyone has said anything good about you. Incomplete listings quietly lose bookings. Fill in your hours, add ten real photos of your actual work, and ask your five favourite clients for an honest review.

Do this today: Claim or complete your free Beautifyx profile and your Google listing this week — both are free and both feed search results.

    7. Track one number: revenue per hour worked

Total revenue hides problems. Revenue per hour worked tells you whether you're busy or actually earning. Divide last month's revenue by the hours you were on the floor. Then try to move that number instead of adding more hours to your week.

Do this today: Write the number down today and check it again in 30 days. Everything above should push it up.
