How do I time contractions?
Start timing when you feel tightening begin, and stop when the contraction ends. The 'duration' is how long each contraction lasts. The 'frequency' is measured from the start of one contraction to the start of the next.
What's the difference between Braxton Hicks and real contractions?
Braxton Hicks are irregular, usually painless, and stop with movement or hydration. Real labor contractions become progressively longer, stronger, and closer together, and don't stop with rest or position changes.
